DAVE & JON GERSHEN have performed and recorded over the years with a list of people that reads like a who’s who of the music world: VAN MORRISON, members of THE BAND, DAVE SANBORN, JOHN SIMON, BEN KEITH, AMOS GARRETT, VASSAR CLEMENTS, just to name a few.
Most know them from their work with the widely acclaimed 70s Woodstock group BORDERLINE which they formed with award winning producer JIM ROONEY.

Through the years, they often talked about doing an album featuring just their own music. Well, the wait is finally over! Their new CD, called DAVE GERSHEN & JON GERSHEN, “FADED GLORY" continues the tradition of heartfelt songwriting and vocal performances they established long ago with BORDERLINE. Dave’s songs draw on the great traditions of country and folk, while Jon’s music leans more toward a blues tinged edgier sound. Although they approach their songwriting from different perspectives, each complements the other, bringing to this collection a sense of balance not often found in collaborations of this kind.
Like their earlier albums, this latest effort includes wonderful backing musicians who masterfully bring unique and powerful performances to each and every song. Playing the electric guitar, electric slide, and lap steel is Jon’s good friend, ARLEN ROTH. His reputation as one of the world’s most gifted guitarists is richly deserved. Few can match the intensity of his inspired playing. On drums is ERIC PARKER who’s recorded with everyone from STEVE WINWOOD to JOE COCKER and is widely respected for his intuitive style. Keyboards are handled by DAN McKINNEY who is currently featured in the JIM WEIDER BAND. Switching off between organ and piano, his approach can be at once rhythmic and melodic. The electric bass and vocal harmonies are done by ALBERT ROGERS, a popular session player who has also played with WEIDER’S group.
This is music that will transport you to a time when the song meant everything and the listener could be swept up in the feelings and emotions the performer magically created. This is the experience of listening to the DAVE GERSHEN & JON GERSHEN CD, “FADED GLORY." more...
